Chapter Two

Never in any of her fantasies had it been like this. She always knew Jasper would be wild, untamed, but never thought he’d be so animalistic. His fingers dug into her wrist while his other hand pushed her pajama shorts and underwear down to her ankles.

Panic rose within her. She’d never been naked in front of a guy before.

“Do not squirm. You have no idea how close I am to pulling that ass up and taking you. Be still.” He pushed his dick against her flesh. She wanted to jump, to try and get away, but with him so angry, she knew it’d only make it worse.

“Jasper, please. Not like this.” Her voice was barely a whisper. She wanted him so bad, yet wanted her first time to be in a bed, not against a door and from behind.

“I’ll let you go, but if you run, I will catch you. Then I will have you any way I want.” The hand between her thighs slipped, stroking her. He eased his fingers to her swollen clit before pinching it hard.

The air in her lungs rushed out, and breathing no longer mattered. All that mattered to her was Jasper, and the pain/pleasure he brought. His teeth scraped the back of her neck. The tender flesh tingled with want. Something in her, a part of her, begged for him to bite, to mark her skin for all to see. She wanted it, and he wanted it.

Without thinking, that part of her brain took over. She turned her head, exposing her neck for him. The marking bond hadn’t been finished at the airport, but now it would be. Jasper would mark her with his teeth, showing all others she was his. And God knew Sidda was his, always had been.

“Jasper,” she hissed when his teeth skimmed down her neck. His sharp teeth left her skin blazing.

Jasper held on to his control by not even a thread, not even a fiber. She had to know what she was offering by exposing her neck to him. Showing her throat to her Alpha made his beast soar with pride. She accepted him. His hands trembled when she reached behind her and wrapped her slender arms around his neck to pull his head down to the same spot he’d nipped so many years before. He craved to bend her over and fuck her right there, outside in the open for anyone and all to see she was his. He inhaled, held his breath and then on the release, his mouth closed over her jugular and bit. All control snapped as her sweet rich flavor filled his mouth.

She whimpered, and he slipped a finger between her folds to work inside her. Jasper growled deep in his throat while he continued to press his teeth down on her neck and stroke her sweet, smooth pussy. Her arousal filled his nose, and he fought not to push inside her. He’d waited so long to have her, to have his mate. The intimacy of marking her, filling her, drove his beast into a frenzy.

Jasper drew in a ragged breath through his nose. His bite hardened again, this time breaking the skin just as his finger slid palm-deep into her. His palm brushed over her clit before grinding against it.

His growl tore from his throat. “Mine.” He thrust closer to her. His cock slid between her thighs, over his hand and her opening. Creamy wetness met his hard cock. She dripped with desire for him, and when she rocked her hips to rub that sweetness on his cock, he struggled to even think.

“Fuck, don’t move again. You grinding against me with your hot, wet pussy and the smell of how bad you want me will bring the beast. I can’t control him. I’ll hurt you.”A hard edge rode his voice. “I’m going to pull your pants up, turn you around, and you’re going to tell me what the fuck you’re doing up here with another man. You’re mine. You wear my mark now, and no one is ever to touch you but me.”

He glanced at the bite he’d left on her neck and smiled. No one in the Luna Nation would dare question him about his mate now. The Visioner might have said he was to mate with Vivian Dowery, but there was no way in hell he would. His heart was Sidda’s, and now everyone would know it. The mark glowed red. The throbbing pain from it reached out to him, and his own neck began to throb. The bond between them was already strong. He could feel the need pulsing through her body move to his. She fueled his desire for her with hers for him.

His hands slid down her body. One hand lingered over her swollen folds, and he was loath to move it. She leaned back on him, resting the back of her head on his shoulder. “I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about, but that feels…”

Anger radiated in him. “Think hard and don’t lie to me. If you do, I promise I will spank your perfect ass.” He gathered her underwear and pants in his hands. Slowly, he eased them back up her body, over her ass, and back into place. His arms circled around her waist to turn her to face him.

The reflection in her eyes showed his eyes still glowed. He swallowed hard to push the anger away. Breath by deep breath, it began to fade until the reflection in her eyes showed green swirling through the orange. Anger faded to lust.

“Jasper, kiss my ass. I have no clue what you’re talking about. I came up here with Cole because I was too upset to talk to you. Then, an hour ago, he gets a call about a hot date. I’m here alone.” She flexed her hands. He could see the frustration she held.

Jasper cussed under his breath. It had all been just a setup. Cole and Sidda’s mother had played them perfectly. Damn humans, even though the wolf packs had lived amongst them for years, humans still didn’t fully understand how possessive Alpha wolves could be. Jasper and Ms. Angela had played a very dangerous game. “I’m gonna kill Cole. When I get home, he’s dead,” Jasper whispered. He looked down at her, regret cracking a whip within him. “God, I’m sorry. I thought…” He ran a large hand through his wild untamable hair. “I thought you were here with a guy. I couldn’t stand it. When I went to your house, your mom told me you’d gone to the cabin for the night. She said Cole told her you wanted to be alone with that white trash asshole you brought up here. I shifted right there, trying to get up here to you.” He brushed his knuckles across her cheek.

Her soft lips pursed into a pout. “Well, even if I was up here with Troy, it shouldn’t matter. You haven’t bothered to pick up a phone and call me in six months.” Her voice cracked. She crossed her arms.

Jasper hated that he hadn’t called her, but he hadn’t been able to. Sidda wouldn’t understand that he’d been trying desperately to convince Vivian Dowery that he was not her mate. Vivian following him every step for the past six months had left little time to talk to Sidda alone. But not calling her had hurt Sidda, and that wasn’t something he’d ever wanted to do. “Everything you do matters to me. I love you, always have. I’m sorry I didn’t call. I couldn’t.”

Her hazel eyes lit with anger. “Oh yeah, why? Cole tried to tell me some bull about it hurt you to hear my voice and not be with me? Well, what the crap did you think it was like for me? After that farewell scene, I dreamed of you coming home for Thanksgiving, us being together. Then you didn’t, not then or for anything else since you left. And you acted like nothing had changed between us, that you hadn’t nipped me and started the marking. Well, you did mark me then. It shattered every hold on my emotions I had when it came to you.”

Sulfur assaulted his senses as her anger rose right alongside her voice.

She breathed out a sob. “What do you think it did to me when you stopped calling, wouldn’t answer my calls, or anything? It broke my heart, you asshole. I wish that whole thing had never happened, that we could go back to before, but it did, and you blew it. Now leave, go back to Romania and whatever bitch you were fucking there. Just leave me alone.” Tears flowed down her cheeks, breaking his heart.

He hated himself for making her cry.

Sidda tried to push away the vulnerable and desperate feeling. All she had wanted the entire time he’d been in Romania was for him to tell her to hang on, to wait for him. He hadn’t, and just when she’d decided to move on, he came back thinking he could have her. Typical.

Rough fingers tilted her head to meet his eyes. “It did hurt. It hurt so goddamn bad to hear your voice and know I couldn’t be with you that I almost went insane from it.” His fingers stroked her face. “Four years I’ve been waiting, searching for a way to tell you just what I am.”

How could he say that? “I’ve always known what you are, so has everyone in town. The Luna Nation is a part of our world. We know you’re a wolf.” She was close to slapping him again. They’d always known he was a wolf. Sidda had understood his leaving, the need to find his pack, but never imagined it’d take him so long to come home.

He shook his head. “I’m more than that.”

She nodded, not exactly sure where he was going with the conversation. Jasper had a drive in him to be the best, do the best he could. It’d been a running joke between them that he could be the army guy, the “be all you can be” army guy.

His lips turned into a quick, cocky grin. Perfect white teeth shone behind his lush red lips as the dimple in his cheek winked at her. His hand stroked her arm, sizzling her with its touch.

“You remember folks around here talking about the Pack Wars?” His touch got firmer, clouding her brain.

“Yeah, vaguely. My mom said she dated a wolf once, right before my dad. But then the guy got sent to fight against some rival pack.” She reached out to touch his chest. The pale moonlight made Jasper’s skin glow. A fine sheen of sweat already covered his chest.

“Hmm.” He closed his eyes when she moved her hands over his chest to his shoulder, feeling each muscle. His skin trembled with her touch. “Shit, I can’t think when you’re touching me.” His eyes snapped open. “This is important. I’m the rightful North American Luna Alpha.” His body moved closer, his fingers finding their way to her breast as if he hadn’t just dropped one hell of a bombshell on her.

She dropped her hands to her side, staring up at him. His lips were inches away from hers, yet her mind ran screaming in the other direction. He was a freakin’ leader of a pack and not just any backyard hometown pack, the leader of the thirty of the Luna packs in North America. She had no idea what that really entailed, besides she’d have to share him.

Her mind spun with confusion. “Repeat that again.” She looked up into chocolate eyes.

He played with a free strand of her hair. He lifted the strand to his nose, inhaling the scent, and then let it drop to her shoulder.

“Later, let’s talk about it later.” He grasped the rubber band in her hair then pulled it out. The mass of auburn curls cascaded around her shoulders. He sighed deeply, kissing the side of her mouth. “No matter what, you’ll never have to share me. I’ve always been yours.”

Sidda’s mind melted right alongside her body. God, how could he brand her with just his words? She wanted to rebel against the thought of “belonging” to someone. To fight with him for abandoning her. To argue with him about having to share him since he was an Alpha. But she couldn’t, because the desire flaming in her swept her anger to the back of her mind. A little part of her glorified in the fact that she belonged to him. That part begged to be marked again, to prove she was his.

She rolled her head back to expose her throat again. His breath caught. Then his lips found the mark, and her world went black.
